Why we build GROW BEDS the way we do…
Our various-sized PLANTER BOXES are created with all-natural Western Cedar, which is naturally bug and rot-resistant. They are completely chemical-free, which means your garden will be truly organic. The best part? All of our garden beds are designed to last you through many Utah winters.
Our much larger GARDEN BEDS are crafted of durable pressure-treated 2x4s and galvanized steel to add instant character to any garden, backyard, or patio in a classic, vintage-inspired design.
Why use planter boxes and/or garden beds?
- Hold your well-fertilized and watered soil in one place, rather than it mixing with dry Sanpete dirt.
- Raise your garden for easier reaching.
- Install chicken wire on the bottom of large garden beds to prevent underground animals eating vegetables from below (voles, moles, gophers, etc). Note: the cedar planter boxes have a bottom built in and will not need chicken wire added.
- Prevent weeds and other unwanted growth.
- Worms, if you have them, will stay near your gardening where you want them to be.
- Keeps plants separate so they don’t cross-pollinate. (Using multiple grow beds.)
- They’re beautiful, organized, and exciting to fill and tend to each year.
